Are you visiting (or living in) Japan and want to visit the real life locations from Psycho-Pass in Tokyo?
Then keep reading!
Because Psycho-Pass takes place in the year 2112, we see a different Tokyo. This is why there are only two real-life parallel locations that were used as models in Psycho-Pass.
In the first 5 minutes of season 1 episode 10, Akane Tsunemori and Shinya Kogami go to Shimbashi Station to investigate the whereabouts of Yuki Funahara.
During that time we can find two places that you can visit in Tokyo.
*Both spots are in the same area so you don’t need to take a train or taxi.
SL Square (SL広場)
The first place is SL Square (SL 広 場) located in Shimbashi.
When you arrive at Shimbashi station, look for the Hibiya Exit. As soon as you exit the station you will see this place.
Btw, there is a smoking area next to this location.
Shimbashi Tokyo Metro
The second real-life location of Psycho-Pass is the Ginza Exit at Shimbashi station (same station just different exit). As you can see, the spot is a bit different from how it looks in the anime.
Those were all the places that I was able to find. If you know of any others please leave a comment and I would be more than happy to add them to this post.
Is it worth visiting?
Well, if you’re nearby Shimbashi, pay it a visit. Otherwise, it’s not all that worth it as there are better places to do anime pilgrimage in Tokyo (more info below).
This post was kind of ‘for your information’, rather than encouraging you to visit the spot.
Don’t forget that the first film of the new series just got released this month! (Though it’s just the first in a trilogy).
According to the trailers:
- The first movie: PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case.1 (Crime and Punishment) will focus on Shimotsuki Mika and Nobuchika Ginoza. Premiere: 2019.1.25
- The second movie: PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case.2 (First Guardian) whose protagonists will be Sugou Teppei and Masaoka Tomomi. Premiere: 2019.2.15
- Finally, the last film will be PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case.3 (On the Other Side of Love and Hate), where Kogami Shinya will be the main character. Premiere: 2019.3.8
