🔥 Application period: May 7 to June 11 2023

Or, if none of these roles interest you, maybe you’re just confident talking with others about otaku culture but you don’t have the platform to share your opinions with others.

If that sounds like you, then keep reading further!

A bit about us…

Almost 3 years ago, our founder, Alfred, created Mipon on his own.

Alfred

Now, we’re more than 7 people strong. We have been growing a lot in the past months and the growth has already exceeded all our expectations.

In fact, we’re now the world’s leading source of Anime Tourism.

(You can find more information about our story in this video, click on the link below to watch it)

You’ll join a team that has collaborated with the biggest anime and manga-related companies such as Kodansha (Attack On Titan and Tokyo Revengers), KADOKAWA (Re:Zero and SAO), Aniplex (Demon Slayer), Cygames (Zombieland Saga), just to name a few.

Those collaborations include interviews with:

  • Re: Zero’s author, Taipei Nagatsuki
  • That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’s author, Fuse
  • Mob Psycho 100’s director, Yuzuru Tachikawa
  • Zombie Land Saga’s screenwriter and producer, Munehisa Sakai & Nobuhiro Takenaka, respectively.
  • Saori Hayami (Japanese Voice Actor)
  • 86’s author, Asato Asato

And many more!

We’re incredibly proud to say that our interviews have been featured and covered in the largest anime news websites such as Anime News Network, Anime Corner, CBR (Comic Book Resources), Crunchyroll (USA, Latam & Brazil) to name just a few.

Joining Mipon will allow you to

  • Collaborate on projects directly with people from the anime & manga industry (interviews, collaborations, types of projects we haven’t tried yet, etc.).
  • Write about topics related to anime, manga, light novels, or video games.
  • Share with others your passion. We love otaku culture!
  • Have the potential to share your content with Mipon’s audience.
  • Join our meetings to discuss plans and ideas (we love talking, but chatting is also fine!)
  • Help prepare for interviews with people from the anime or manga industry.

What we’re looking for:

  • If you’re applying for the role of Community Manager, Website editor/proofreader, or writer, your native language should be English.
  • Be open-minded and ready to work with people of different nationalities and cultures. Our common language is English, but our team is built on diversity.
  • Any backgrounds are welcome, as long as you have a passion for anime/manga and light novels and the desire to channel it!
  • Must have an internet connection that allows you to stream anime and attend remote team meetings.
  • Keep up with current/ongoing anime, manga, and light novel series. Our community is mostly seasonal watchers, so we’d like our team members to be up to date as well. (You don’t need to watch everything, but following at least a few new series is ideal)
  • Motivated to learn new things.
  • Willing to be part of a team and committed to the project (this is essential.)
  • At least one hour per day that can be dedicated to Mipon
