My Japanese girlfriend and I decided to do anime cosplay for the very first time this Halloween! Me as Lelouch and her as C.C.
After spending hours searching for our cosplay and asking for advice from my Japanese friends who do a lot of cosplay, I came up with this list.
Hope you like it!
Note: Most of the shops listed here only ship to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and other cities in Japan.
The largest e-commerce site also offers a great variety of anime and gaming costumes.
One of the things that surprised me a lot is that Amazon sells a lot of kawaii and cute girl costumes like:
- Hestia (DanMachi)
- Mai Sakurajima (Rascal Doesn’t Dream With Bunny Senpai)
- Elizabeth (Nanatsu No Taizai)
- Rem (Re:Zero)
- Rin Tohsaka (Fate Stay Night)
And yes, they also sell a lot of male cosplays made in Japan. Here is where I bought my Lelouch cosplay!
If you’re looking for ideas to do cosplay, you can start searching on Amazon. The best part is that their Japanese website is in English!
Looking for Shonen Jump cosplay? You’ve got to visit Cospatio.
Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Boruto, One Punch Man , and Sword Art Online are some of the cosplay sets that you can find on Cospatio.
Btw, they also have a physical store in Akihabara!
If you’re looking for high quality costumes and you don’t want to spend extra money on a cool cosplay, you need to visit Costomo.
They have costumes of several anime like Fate:Grand Order, Boku No Hero Academia, Kimetsu No Yaiba, Cells At Work, etc.
Yes, they also sell the outfit of Shinobu Kocho, the most badass character in Kimetsu No Yaiba.
Cosonsen has the largest variety of anime and video game cosplays! You can find almost any famous costume of your favorite male or female character.
For example, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Code Geass, Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer, Sailor Moon and many more!
And yeah, you can also find wigs, swords, boots and many other things to make your cosplay look more realistic.
Another fantastic and cheap online shop is Comicland!
For only 3,000yen (28 USD) you can buy a cosplay of Kimetsu No Yaiba, Boku No Hero Academia and many more.
Nezuko’s cosplay is only 4,500 yen (43 USD).
Mercari is like the Japanese eBay or Mercadolibre. You can find a lot of second-handed costumes.
If you’re on a budget or you’re just getting into cosplay, check out Mercari.
They have a lot of cheap costumes like this Asuka cosplay for only 3,500 yen (33 USD) or this Shingeki No Kyojin cloak for only 1,279 yen (12 USD).
The downside is that the quality of the costumes that you can find here is not the best and there is not much variety.
Btw, if you are looking for anime t-shirts I wrote an entire article listing the best shops for buying t-shirts in Japan, check it out:

As for me, this will be my first time doing cosplay, dressing up like one of my favorite anime characters, Lelouch.
My next cosplay will probably be of Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist or Levi from Shingeki No Kyojin.
